About the Grant
Continuing Dr. Hoskins’ dedication to science and service
Dr. Darrell Hoskins devoted his career to the responsible care of research animals and the advancement of laboratory animal medicine. As a veterinarian, consultant, and later a member of the Transnetyx team, Darrell was known for his integrity, mentorship, and steadfast commitment to improving the lives of animals and the people who care for them.
After his passing, a group of his colleagues and friends — all veterinarians and members of ACLAM — established this grant in his honor. Today, these same professionals continue to serve as reviewers for the program, ensuring each application reflects the values that defined Darrell’s career: excellence, empathy, and ethics in research.

The Darrell Hoskins Memorial Grant supports veterinarians, veterinary students, and animal care professionals pursuing research, training, or programs that advance the 3Rs of animal research — Replacement, Reduction, and Refinement — and uphold the highest standards of animal welfare.
It recognizes individuals who share Darrell’s belief that scientific progress and compassionate care go hand in hand.

Complete the online form and include a summary of your project, research, or training program, detailing how it supports laboratory animal medicine and aligns with Darrell’s legacy.
Review & selection
Applications are reviewed by a committee of veterinary professionals who worked alongside Dr. Hoskins and helped found the grant.
Award & recognition
Selected recipients receive grant funding and recognition across Transnetyx and ACLAM channels, continuing Darrell’s tradition of mentorship and excellence.
